The ivory netsuke wonderfully rounded, depicting a chubby hare (usagi), with its eyes inlaid in red amber, and its long ears falling over its back. The asymmetrical himotoshi at the underside together.Very good condition with New product not used.

Provenance:japanese royal family collection, ex-collection Fleischel Robert(undoubtedly one of the most influential people in Japan concerning Netsuke).
KENJI: Kenji Abe(阿部賢次). Born November 27, 1947, in Tokyo. Studied under Toshikatsu Kobari(小針敏生). Studied under his father-famous carver Godo(悟堂), Carves only ivory.
Best-known Subject: figures of men and the twelve zodiac signs in Chinese astrology. Member of J.I.S.A(Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association).
